The Emergency Housing program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides basic needs. Women may stay up to 30 days.
Belinda’s Place is the first emergency housing facility in York Region for unaccompanied homeless women who are not eligible for Violence against Women (VAW) Emergency Housings. The facility offers 28 single-occupancy rooms. It operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and provides: basic needs (food, bedding, hygiene supplies, etc.); collaborative, client-driven assessment; strengths-based, trauma-informed case management; referrals and warm transfers; assistance connecting with wraparound services; and assistance finding appropriate, affordable, and stable housing.
